Observations of the two comets Hyakutake (C/1996 B2) and Hale-Bopp (C/1996 O1)
with the 60/90 cm Schmidt telescope + 2048x2048 CCD of Beijing
Astronomical Observatory is summerized. About 250 images was taken for
comet Hyakutake in 21 nights during Feb. to Mar. 1996, and 310 images in
29 nights for Hale-Bopp during Feb. 1996 to Apr. 1997. Observations were
taken mainly with midband filters centered at 3890 Angstroms, 5270 Angstroms,
6660 Angstroms, and 9745 Angstroms. Comparison of coma structures in different
filters is presented.
