ABSTRACT

All abstracts will be due by 1 April 1998 in order to be included in the abstract booklet that will be distributed at the meeting. In order to provide uniformity of style to the abstract booklet, we are providing a LaTeX format, which can be downloaded here. This template contains a trivial sample of an abstract so that you can see the style printed out before you start and also see how the template should be used. Replace all of the sample text with your own. The abstract must print on one page with this template. If the abstract exceeds one page when printed with this LaTeX style, only the first page will be included in the abstract booklet. Once you have completed the template, it should be sent by email to iau168@astro.umd.edu.
For those of you who prefer to type your abstract on line, this form will be converted to LaTeX after you submit it. This will automatically be forwarded to the same email addresses reached byiau168@astro.umd.edu. For those of you who wish to submit abstracts on paper, please follow the format of the sample abstract, available here, as a postscript file. The boundary of the complete abstract should be 15 by 22 cm and the basic text font should be 11 in a font that has serifs and small caps. Mail copies of your paper abstract both to the chairman of the SOC, Michael A'Hearn, and to the LOC for IAU Colloquium 168 in Nanjing. Paper abstracts must be received by the same deadline as electronic abstracts.
Once a significant number of abstracts have been received, we will make them available on the web site.
